A story about Helen Palmer

Helen and I were completing academic courses at the same time and we both picked this up through comments we made on the yahoo BCUK group. Helen was absolutely wonderful because she sent me a book from my wishlist and some chocolate when I finished my dissertation. I wasn’t so organised or nice so maybe I can buy her a drink or two when we meet :o)

A story about KatColorado

What can I say about the wonderful KatColorado? She has single-handedly turned my life in Zurich around and I don’t know what I’d do without her :-)

Meeting for cappuchino in Parterre
Hunting for Martinis
Playing with the kids
Baking
Learning swiss German
Improving my hochdeutsch
bookcrossing adventures
Drinking beer and gossiping
Discussing books at the bookclub
Looking forward to Dresden
Introducing me to Bollywood
Cinema trips
& of course exercising with Davina :-)

A story about tablespoons

Tablespoons is a wonderful person+, who is a welcome member of our Zurich bookcrossing and bookclub family :) I really enjoy having someone else to talk English with :) Looking forward to her bookclub choice of “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close” next week.

+ Even if she does skip bars without paying for her beer :)

How I met Helen Palmer

She has a really nice bookcrossing page (along with KatColorado) where she mentions the Zurich City Book Club, so I took a chance and joined the book club and met her and lots of other nice people! Now I’m an active bookcrosser, on the expats list, and here on 43things! Thanks Helen!!

A story about Helen Palmer

Helen is one of most loyal Journaleers. She has stuck with me for the last 6-7 months, and is always encouraging. Thanks, nice_cup!

Why I want to meet Helen Palmer

She started the Lose Weight club here from BCUK. But, I also love her entries via other things. I’d love to get to Germany and I’d really like to meet Helen in person because she is so fun to talk to on the ‘net.

A story about Helen Palmer

When I run in my debut 10K race next Sunday, I will have Helen to thank for helping to turn me from an overweight tub of lard to a modestly respectable club runner. It was she who guided me to the 10-week plan to get going. It was hard work but I didn’t flinch and I didn’t waver and I felt great when I completed it!
